Monochrome + wire

Safari Fusion blog | Monochrome + wire | Simple monochrome style with splashes of yellow and turquoise

I was catching up on some reading over the weekend and spotted this gorgeous image of a very simple yet extremely effective styled living room.

I love the monochrome palate, the use of strong geometric lines and the touches of turquoise and yellow. Best of all our yellow Cape Wire Bowl looks beautiful all angular and bright on the coffee table.

More Africa vintage travel posters

Safari Fusion blog | Africa vintage travel posters | Colourful African artwork for the wall
My search for Africa vintage travel posters online has become infectious, and my virtual collection now numbers at more than sixty posters from the 1940s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.

I came across this North African one from Air France the other day (pictured above), such amazing colours and is up there as one of my favourites. I also managed to find some Qantas ones; the teal one pictured below is my pick.

If you are keen on any BOAC posters, then you may want to visit the British Airways site as they have a dedicated section showcasing all their travel posters through the decades (which includes the early days of Imperial Airways and BOAC). It also looks like you can purchase copies, I am not sure if they deliver outside of the UK (if you find out be sure to let me know!) Click here to view.

Personally I am a fan of Orange (I know a 70's child at heart!) and loved celebrating Tangerine Tango in 2012.

However Pantone have gone one better in my book by selecting a shade of my all time favourite colour green as the colour of 2013.

Welcome fresh and vibrant PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald, the Pantone colour of 2013.

"Lively. Radiant. Lush… A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony."

Hello 2013!

Safari Fusion blog | Hello 2013! | Safari Fusion welcomes in the New Year with the Sydney fireworks.
My first minute of 2013 was spent dancing on the grass outside the Park Hyatt Sydney as my husband and I celebrated the New Year in with friends and watched the Sydney Harbour fireworks spectacular.

I must say it was one of the most amazing New Years I have had (yes Sydney you do better NYE fireworks then Melbourne!) and one I will remember for a long time. So much joy and happiness, and a wonderful way to kick start 2013.

I hope 2013 brings you everything you wish for...Happy New Year!
