Last Friday was a fun filled day as the talented Marsha Golemac and Brooke Holm styled and photographed our gorgeous new pieces.

Marsha's Scandinavian aesthetic was the perfect fit for our colourful new finds and we were spoilt with the amazing location of Lyn Gardener's (of Empire Vintage) location 426.

Here is a sneak peek of some of the new images along with behind the scenes snaps (by me!).

Monkeybiz

Safari Fusion blog | Monkeybiz | Beautiful handcrafted quirky African beqd animals & dolls made with love in South Africa
One of South Africa’s most inspiring projects is the non-profit organisation, Monkeybiz. I have been a huge fan of this project for more than 9 years, adding to my collection with each visit to Cape Town.

Monkeybiz supports more than 450 women in Cape Town’s township communities; many of whom are affected with HIV.

With training, beads and materials provided, the women craft one-of-a-kind Bead Animals and Dolls; all with the distinctive fun, colour and humour that Monkeybiz has become renowned for!

Click here for more on the Monkeybiz story.

Abigail Ahern Masterclass

Ahern Masterclass | Tips and tricks on how to create your own eclectic style home
I was fortunate over the weekend to participate in Abigail Ahern's Masterclass here in Melbourne.

Designer, stylist and owner of one of London's leading interiors stores, Abigail shared her tips and tricks on how to create your own eclectic style without it looking like a complete flea market disaster.

She does not follow rules she breaks them, and encourages us all to decorate by following our heart and not trends.
"The more visual friction you create, the more interesting a space."
With that in mind, I am now all inspired to create lots of visual friction in my home and just maybe paint one room (walls and ceiling) a moody colour!

Desert Oasis

Safari Fusion blog | Desert oasis | Saharan architecture with classic modern furnishings at Al Tarfa Desert Sanctuary, North Africa
I have a thing for the Sahara Desert - the constant changing light and sand colour, the endless vistas, the date palm oasis and that feeling of peace and tranquility of being so far removed from civilisation.

I came across the beautiful lodge Al Tarfa Desert Sanctuary recently, located in the remote Dakhla Oasis in western Egypt, and decided it must go on the 'must visit one day' list.

The lodge interiors are a mesmerizing mix of typical Saharan mud architecture and modern yet classic furnishings - simple but so effective.
