Violet Bamileke Feather Headdress
The past two months have seen me busy sourcing more of our beautiful Bamileke Feather Headdresses (Juju Hats) for our lovely new stockists and for our Safari Store.

Some of the more hard to find colours have been popping up such as Violet and Dark Natural.

I also managed to find Aqua hats for the first time (after trying for nearly four years!). This gorgeous green blue shade headdress is a real find, be quick though as we only have the one remaining in stock!

Also in store: Teal, RedMagenta and Dark Natural & White
Coming soon: Yellow, Orange and White

Africa vintage travel posters

Safari Fusion blog | Africa vintage travel posters | Colourful African artwork for the wall
I was inspired recently to start searching for Africa vintage travel posters from a blog posting on Bob Wong's art home by Melbourne stylist Heather Nette King.

With a love of Africa and a past life in travel, it got me thinking that maybe I should start a collection.

Here are my finds so far from Pan Am, TWA, BOAC, SAS, Air France and Alitalia from the 1950s, 60s and 70s.

Indoor camp fire anyone?

Safari Fusion blog | Indoor camp fire anyone? | Organic fire places, furniture and lighting crafted in South Africa
No, the table is not on fire!

It is a new interpretation of a traditional fire place created by the South African company Drift furniture.

Featured at this year's Design Indaba the Drift furniture fire range creates the atmosphere of a camp fire in your lounge using odour free (and apparently safe) bio-ethanol burners.

With this cold Melbourne weather, I am thinking I could do with a camp fire in my office right now!

Captured on a visit to Namibia and South Africa, these beautiful black and white photographs are by South African Australian photographer Christopher Rimmer.

Showcased at Art Melbourne last weekend you will have another chance to view his stunning works (if you are in Melbourne!) at the Without Pier Gallery Hampton in the coming weeks.
