Part of East African culture, boda-boda taxis are an economical form of transportation that started back in the 1960s and 70s as a means of transporting people across the no-man's land at the Kenyan Ugandan border without having to worry about vehicle paperwork.
The bicycle owners would shout out "boda-boda" (border-to-border) to potential customers.
